The Milli Vanilli President

How is a Nobel Peace Prize like a Grammy?

Apparently you can win either one without actually doing anything as long as you look good while not doing it.

When I first saw Candidate HopeChange speechifying I was impressed. His delivery was impeccable. Of course, 90 seconds into any given speech of his, an observant audience is washed over by a veritable landslide of half-baked, semi-logical platitudes that convey much the same effect as a Kenny G song: the mechanics sapphire ring are pretty, but the underlying substance is less than desirable.

While Obama was lauded as a great orator, many of us began to wonder whether he was more style than substance. In spite of the fact that the man was an adroit speech-reader, the message conveyed by Candidate HopeChange was burdened with solipsistic and nonsensical slogans (e.g., "We are the ones we've been waiting for") that no sober person in possession of a functioning cerebral cortex could actually believe. But alas, Barry-O sounded great being silly.
